Canthan Character changing professions - Guild Wars Forums

I started a Ranger on Shing Jea just before NF thinking to take advantage of the steep experience-building curve in Factions. I brought her over right from Kaineng, but I've not done much with her since.

I notice on the Wiki that she will not have access to a profession changer in NF even if she finishes the "ascension" mission because I have not gone through all the steps to becoming Weh no Zu. However, I want to end up with her at the Tombs anyway, so I was planning on taking her through the Crystal Desert Ascension process anyway. My question is, if I take her as a Canthan character through Ascension, will she still be locked out of the NF profession changer? Or said another way, do I HAVE to become Weh no Zu to ascend this character because she is of Canthan origin?

current dogma is that you must 'ascend or equivalent' on your own continent in the context of profession changers, easy for you to test, pop on over to elona, and build the base....or you could just do the 2 easy missions in cantha.

You can only have access to change your secondary profession once you completed the mission or quests in your respective chapter. IE, if your char is canthan born, you still don't have access to the secondary profession changer in Nightfall even if you have finished The command Post quest. It will tell you that you must complete the quest in nahpui quarter, or something like that if you talk to the professional changer in the command post.

Well, I'm no expert, but here's my experience with my Tyrian born warrior. I have not ascended her yet in the desert. I just now reached the desert with her and have not completed any missions.

I have however taken her over to Kaineng and I've finished the Nahpui Quarter mission over there with her. She can now change her profession in Senju's Corner (I don't know where the changer is yet in NF or Proph) and she can also enter the FOW/UW from both Temple of Ages and Zin Ku.
